The Washington Redskins made a waiver claim for RB Tashard Choice after he was waived by the Dallas Cowboys a few weeks ago, but his tenure with the Redskins didn’t even last a month. Tashard Choice was waived this afternoon by the Washington Redskins.
Washington moved Choice in order to make room for the addition of practice squad running back Evan Royster. The Redskins have struggled to find a consistent running back this season and while after signing RB Tashard Choice, the Washington Redskins got very little production from the former Cowboys running back.
Choice, who at one point was thought to be the replacement for Marion Barber and Felix Jones, now finds himself without a team once again. He received six carries in Week 11 against his former team, Dallas, for a total of seven total yards.
The move to bring Tashard Choice in, and then the resulting release of him, shows how desperate the Washington Redskins have become. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan should not be buying green bananas in the month of January if their futility continues.
