The Carolina Panthers organization have informed their season ticket holders that they will not raise ticket prices for the 2012 season. The Panthers drafted QB Cam Newton with the first overall selection of the 2011 NFL Draft and he didn’t disappoint, winning NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Newton’s success on the field renewed interest in the Carolina Panthers this past season with television viewership increasing over 20%.

Carolina will enter the 2012 season with high expectations after Cam Newton’s production on the field. Despite finishing the season 6-10, the Panthers lost five games by seven points or less.

In other Carolina Panthers related news, the club announced two contract signings. J.J. Jansen has been signed to a four-year contract extension. Jansen is the Panthers long snapper. The franchise also announced a one-year contract for LB Jason Phillips. Phillips played in just four games for the Panthers last season before being placed on injured reserve.
