Despite several reports suggesting the contrary, the Philadelphia Eagles are content heading into the 2012 NFL regular season with QB Michael Vick under center. While discussing the upcoming regular season with the Philadelphia Daily News, Eagles head coach Andy Reid shrugged off any ideas of Philadelphia making any moves at the quarterback position.
The Philadelphia Eagles were linked through rumors as being perhaps one of the teams outside of the top-10 in the upcoming draft which might be deciding on making a run for Baylor’s QB Robert Griffin III. During the interview with the Daily News, Reid said he did meet with Griffin at the recent NFL Combine, but the writer of the column suggested that he doesn’t feel that the Eagles or Reid would be willing to make the moves necessary in order to move up and acquire the quarterback which is widely expected to go with the number two overall selection.
In regards to the Philadelphia Eagles making any moves to acquire now free agent QB Peyton Manning, Reid responded that the organization was happy with Michael Vick. “We’re obviously happy with Michael, ” said Reid.
In regards to the current quarterback situation in Philadelphia, head coach Andy Reid responded that as it stands currently, the Eagles will head into the 2012 training camp with Mike Kafka entrenched as the number two with recently signed veteran journeyman, Trent Edwards as the team’s number three quarterback.
