It’s been a rough year for WR Terrell Owens. Faced with the reality that his NFL career could finally be over, the reality star is now facing serious legal issues and could find himself in jail. An Atlanta woman who is the mother of one of his children filed a petition in court on Friday claiming he is $20,000 dollars behind in child support. If he does not pay the money in arrears, the woman wants Owens jailed.

The woman, Melanie Paige Smith, claims that Owens has not paid the required amount of $5,000 dollars per month for each of the last four months. According to her attorney, Randall Kessler, “He has not indicated if he ever plans to send another penny for their daughter.”

Kessler continued, “We plan to ask the court to send a strong message, given that he has only paid support in the last 10 months after a contempt action has been filed against him.”

This is not the only legal issue facing Owens at the current time though. The wide receiver is also facing foreclosure on two properties in Dallas, Texas and according to a recent article in GQ magazine, his property in Atlanta is also currently on the market.

Owens suffered a knee injury prior to the start of the 2011 NFL regular season, requiring surgery. Despite extensive rehab and holding auditions, the flamboyant receiver found no suitors in the NFL this season. He currently is playing football in the Indoor Football League as a member of the Allen Wranglers.
