The Southern Amateur Football Association (SAFA) regular season and the league is preparing for their All-Star and Championship games to be played at the end of this month on May 26. The Florida Stingrays concluded their inaugural season by securing the overall number three seed as the SAFA playoffs commenced. The Stingrays were having to deal with some injury issues as the playoffs and failed to move out of the first-round, losing to the Gainesville Gators.

Despite the early exit from the playoffs, some players on the Stingrays roster experienced All-Star seasons. According to the Stingrays official website, the following players have been named All-Stars for the 2012 SAFA season-

#2-Solomon Mitchell- LB

#3-Steve Stillman-WR

#6-Ray Denson-DB/WR

#14-Vance St. Gourdin-WR/RB

#20-Charles Long-RB

#21- Jari McMiller-DB

#24-Brandon Nash-SS

#26-Troy Green-DE

#41 Nathan O’Jibway-K

#60-Rob McClain-OG

#69-Issaiah Woodard-C

The Stingrays submitted threee alternate players as well to the SAFA-

#9- Kelvin Green

#27-Jeremy Smith-DE/OLB

#51-Frank Upon-OL/DL

The SAFA All-Star game will kick off at 1:00 pm at South County Stadium in Port St. Lucie, Florida. According to league rules, players must be in Port St. Lucie the night before the game. According to Stingrays general manager David Conde, as per email communication, only one, or perhaps two of the Stingrays All-Star players will be able to attend the game.
