The phenomenon known as Tebowing has made it’s way into the Madden 13 video game which is due out later this summer in August. Tebowing is the pose struck by the now New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, who genuflects after scoring a touchdown.
The pose which Tebow strikes after took on a life of it’s own last season when Tebow-mania ran rampant through the NFL and pop culture. A website was created just for the act of Tebowing and people could assume the Tebow pose and submit their photos to the site from all over the world.
Micahel Young, the games creative producer took to Twitter on Sunday and released the information, tweeting, “Tebowing is in for #madden13.” There were no details as to if all players will be allowed to Tebow, or just Tebow himself.
What also isn’t known is whether or not the Tebow camp will seek any legal action against the makers of the game. The southpaw quarterback is embroiled in legal action with a T-shirt company currently and has been desperately trying to lock up trademarks regarding his name and his Tebowing. One website looks at all the possible legal ramifications which could occur at the trademark office in coming months.
