The Carolina Panthers will open the 2012 regular season on the road, but it now appears they will be practicing on the road leading up to the Week One opener as well. The Panthers have to open their season on the road because of scheduling conflicts at Bank of America Stadium, but those conflicts have led the team to practice on the road as well.

The Panthers home stadium is going to be the site of the Democratic National Convention this season being held September 3-6. Carolina opens the regular season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Panthers have taken advantage of playing in Tampa and will be moving their practices to the nearby famed IMG Academy located in Bradenton, Florida.

Bank of America Stadium will be the site of President Obama accepting his parties nomination on Thursday night, September 6. Given the heightened security surrounding the event, the Panthers have decided to simply spend the week leading up to the opener against the Buccaneers practicing at the IMG location which is located approximately 40 minutes south of Tampa Stadium.
