This is the time of the year when a variety of NFL players usually find their way into the news by getting arrested. On Tuesday, Cleveland Browns DT Kiante Tripp did just that after getting arrest and charged with a felony count of burglary. Tripp was arrested in an Atlanta suburb on Sunday.
Tripp is currently in jail awaiting his bond hearing which will take place on Wednesday morning. He was arrested along with two other men as they were caught fleeing an apartment. Although nothing was stolen from the apartment, police report that Tripp and the two other men reportedly threatened the occupants of the apartment and then ransacked the dwelling.
Browns general manager Tom Heckert issued the following statement, “We are aware of the incident involving Kiante Tripp. We are currently gathering information related to it, and we will not have any further comment at this time.”
Tripp appeared in three games last season for the Browns after originally signing as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons.
