Although there has not been an official team announcement yet, the Buffalo Bills have released QB Vince Young. Young announced the move on his own Twitter account this morning, thanks the Bills and the fans for his opportunity. It was also announced last night that the Buffalo Bills are engaged in talks with the Seattle Seahawks for QB Tarvaris Jackson. The future now looks uncertain for the former University of Texas signal caller.

Young had a rocky offseason with the Bills. While he did report to minicamps in shape, he struggled to learn the Bills playbook. Against the Steelers this weekend, Young threw two interceptions and only completed 10 of 24 passes. For the entire preseason, Young completed under 50% of his passes. This is now the second season Young has struggled on the field.

It remains to be seen if the Bills will also release veteran Tyler Thigpen now that the team is in talks in order to acquire Tarvaris Jackson. It would seem that the Bills might very well release both quarterbacks seeing that Jackson’s current contract pays him $4 million this year.
