The Buffalo Bills running back situation looked bleak after the injury suffered by C.J. Spiller last Sunday. However, it looks a little healthier heading into this week as the Buffalo Bills host the New England Patriots. Spiller’s teammate, Fred Jackson practiced on Friday and it’s believed that he will see action on Sunday.

Spiller suffered a sprained shoulder last week. It was originally feared that he suffered a broken collarbone but tests proved negative. Jackson has been rehabbing a sprained right knee and has been cleared to return to game action. His original timetable for return was up in the air, with some estimates being as high as eight weeks.

Spiller’s availability is a little more questionable. It was originally reported that he would miss at least two weeks with his injury. If Jackson is able to go and can pair with Tashard Choice, it might be wiser to have Spiller sit another week. Choice was solid as Spiller’s replacement, rushing for 91 yards on 22 carries.

Fantasy Impact- I would not start Spiller. I would only start Fred Jackson unless you have no other option at the running back position. However, check Jackson’s status right up to game time to make sure he’s playing.
