The Washington Redskins have been without WR Pierre Garcon since halftime of Week one. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the club will make a decision regarding whether or not Garcon can play at game time. Garcon has been dealing with a foot injury and has missed the last two contests for the Redskins. Multiple reports this week have suggested that Garcon is close to returning to the field for the Redskins at any time.

If Garcon is unable to go, Leonard Hankerson will get the start alongside Santana Moss.

There are two important factors for fantasy owners to consider here. The Redskins do not play until 4:30 on Sunday, so if Garcon is unable to go, your options at receiver will be limited. If he is able to go, he does get a favorable matchup against a Buccaneers secondary which has surrendered a lot of yards in recent weeks, including 510 yards to Giants QB Eli Manning. Tampa Bay enters the game with the top ranked run defense and the league’s worst pass defense.

The other factor to consider is the fact that the stadium field conditions are going to be less than perfect. Raymond James Stadium is considered to be one of the finest facilities in the league, however there was a football game played on the field Saturday night between the Florida State Seminoles and the South Florida Bulls. Prior to kickoff, the field received a deluge of rain, making the field soft. The game play did tear up the field. A very soft field and a foot injury aren’t a very good recipe for success.
