The Florida Stingrays, a local semi-pro football team in Southwest Florida has announced that they are going to be holding tryouts later this month. From the team’s official press release:

The Southwest Florida community’s football team, the Florida Stingrays will hold their first tryout for the 2013 season at Rutenberg Park in Fort Myers on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 The Florida Stingrays are an adult amateur football team for players 18 years or older.  The competition to make the team will be fierce as the Stingrays have been receiving calls from talented players all over Southwest Florida looking to develop their talent and to possibly earn an opportunity to move on to the next level.  Several Stingrays were able to take a step up to the pro level last season with the Southwest Florida Swampdogs of the STARS FOOTBALL LEAGUE and the team plans to make it a priority to help players find similar or better opportunities this season as well.

Head Coach Chris Morant stated, “We want to help these guys to develop the talent God has given them
                  and not only become the best football player they can be, but also to
                  become the best men they can be.”

 

The cost to tryout for the team is just $25 and players will be expected to wear athletic shorts and cleats.  The team also asks that each player arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so they have time to fill out the proper paperwork.
