The New England Patriots reached the league required 53-man roster limit on Friday night. 12 veteran players were among the players which were released. Additionally, the Patriots announced that rookie RB Jeff Demps was placed on the injured serve list, finished for the season. Demps was signed to the Patriots roster on August 17. Only one player from this year’s draft class was released by New England, WR Jeremy Ebert.

The veteran players released include: WR Deion Branch, S Sergio Brown, DL Marcus Harrison, WR Jesse Holley, QB Brian Hoyer, S James Ihedigbo, OL Matt Kopa OC Dan Koppen, LB Niko Koutouvides, S Derrick Martin, LB Jeff Tarpinian and S Malcom Williams.

Additionally, the club released: FB Eric Kettani, DL Aaron Lavaris, TE Alex Silvestro, WR Kerry Taylor, OL Derek Dennis, TE Tyler Urban, OL Dustin Waldron, OL Jeremiah Warren and OL Darrion Weems.

The patriots can start to assemble their eight man practice squad starting Saturday, September 1 at noon.
