As we enter this weekend, the NFL regular season is already one quarter over. It’s still early in the season and fans are trying to determine which teams are pretenders and which teams are legitimate contenders. Will the Packers and Patriots turn their offensive woes around? Likely. Are the Arizona Cardinals for real? Will Cam Newton’s struggles continue in his sophomore season? Stay tuned.

New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills +3.5 O/U 50.5

The Patriots are struggling on offense this season. New England scored touchdowns 65% of the time they entered the red zone last season. This year, the Patriots have just six scores inside the red zone in 12 attempts. Buffalo has allowed just two scores inside the 20 in the last two weeks. I like the Patriots SU, the Bills ATS and the over.

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions -4 48.5

Have you seen the points the Lions are allowing in their last five games? Have you been watching the development of QB Christian Ponder? The Vikings get WR Jerome Simpson back this week. I like the Vikings in an upset and the over.

Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons -7 48.5

Cam Newton is struggling and the Panthers defense is having trouble stopping opposing teams. Matt Ryan is having a spectacular year in the team’s new offense and has always been tough at home in the Georgia Dome. Take the Falcons, lay the points and the under.

San Francisco 49ers @New York Jets +4 41

The Niners aren’t a West Coast team coming east this week. The Niners spent the week in Ohio. Look for the Niners to rebound after a shocking upset to the Minnesota Vikings last week. Take the Niners, lay the points and take the over.

San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs +1.5 44

The Chiefs saw RB Jamaal Charles break out in a big way last week. However, the Chargers have been stout against the run this season. I like the Chargers, give the points and the under in a tight divisional game.

Tennessee Titans @ Houston Texans -11.5 44.5

In each of the past three weeks, the team which is the consensus number one team in many power polls has suffered a loss. This divisional series has been a split for each of the last four seasons. Tennessee has surrendered 113 points in the last three weeks. Take the Texans, give the points and the under.

Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams +3 39

The Seahawks are coming off their controversial win on Monday night. The Rams are an improved team this season under Jeff Fisher. I like the Rams in an upset and the under.

Miami Dolphins @ Arizona Cardinals -4.5 40.5

Arizona is one of just three undefeated teams remaining in the NFL. This game opened with the Cardinals giving seven, but the line has moved to -4.5. I like the Cardinals, give the points and the under.

Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos -7 48

The Raider head coach was the Broncos defensive coordinator last season, so look for the Raiders to exploit the Broncos defense. On the flip side, look for the Broncos to exploit the Raiders secondary. I like the Broncos SU but the raiders ATS and the under.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Jacksonville Jaguars +1 43.5

I’m looking for WR AJ Green to post another large game this week. Take the Bengals, lay the point and the under.

New Orleans Saints @ Green Bay Packers -7.5 53

This is one of the most interesting games of the afternoon. Can the Saints finally get into the win column? How do the Packers rebound after their devastating loss on Monday night? Look for the Packers to rebound in a big way this week, posting their best offensive output this week. Green Bay, minus the points and the over.

Washington Redskins @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers -2 47.5

The Redskins secondary can be exploited and I’m expecting WR Vincent Jackson to have a large week for the Buccaneers. The field in Tampa is a mess after a heavy rain and having the game between Florida State and South Florida played there last night. A bad field gives the receivers a distinct advantage as they know where they are going to be making their cuts. Six of the last 10 games between these two teams have been decided by three points or less. Take Tampa Bay, give the points and the under.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 47

Michael Vick has been struggling with turnovers in the first three weeks of the season. The Giants are coming off a long week and are one of the best road teams in the league. I’m taking the Giants with Eli Manning and the points along with the over in this contest.

Weather shouldn’t be a factor in many of the contests on Sunday. Showers are likely in Buffalo. Rain is possible for the Jets games vs the Niners. There is also a slight chance of showers in Jacksonville and Denver.
