The Washington Redskins trimmed their roster on Friday in order to reach the league imposed deadline to have rosters down to the required 53-man limit. There were a few surprise moves from the Washington Redskins. RB Tim Hightower, a player several thought would become the Redskins starting running back this season was released. WR Anthony Armstrong, a player many fans might recognize, but was a speedy playmaker, was also released.

Four vested veterans were released and are eligible to sign with another club immediately. Those players include: RB Tim Hightower, CB David Jones, LB Bryan Kehl, and DL Darrion Scott.

The Redskins can begin to assemble their eight man practice squad roster at noon Saturday, September 1.

The following players were waived on Friday by the Washington Redskins-
