The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have met the 9p.m. league requirement in order to reach the 53-man roster limit. In fact, the Buccaneers actually have made enough roster moves in order to reach 52 players on their current roster. There were a couple surprises in the players which were either released or waived on Friday.

Two vested veterans were released, DT Frank Okam and DT Amobi Okoye. Vested veteran do not have to clear waivers and are free to sign with another club immediately.

The list of players which have been released and will go through the waiver wire process include: S Larry Asante, S Sean Baker, WR Landon Cox, LB Rennie Curran, LB Jacob Cutera, TE Drake Dunsmore, K Kai Forbarth, OT Jermarcus Hardrick, RB Robert Hughes, FB Cody Johnson, RB Mossis Madu, DT Jordan Nix, OC Moe Petrus, TE Zack Pianalto, QB Brett Ratliff, CB James Rodgers, WR Jordan Shipley, WR Tiquan Underwood, DT Teryl White, DL E.J. Wilson OG Desmond Wynn.

Tiquan Underwood had been enjoying a solid preseason with the Buccaneers and I would not be surprised if he is claimed off waivers by another team. Jordan Shipley had been signed off waivers by the Buccaneers after he was waived by the Cincinnati Bengals. Shipley had only been with the Buccaneers for a little more than one week.

Tampa Bay has not completed all of their roster moves obviously with 52 players currently on the roster. Tampa Bay can start assembling their eight man practice squad roster at noon on Saturday, September 1.
