The Sunday games from Week Two of the NFL regular season are in the books and as usual, several teams came away from their games with key injuries. The most costly injury being that to New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez. The Washington Redskins defense suffered two very key injuries as well. Let’s take a quyick look at some of the bigger name players which suffered injuries on Sunday.

Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of their loss against the Arizona Cardinals. Teammate WR Julian Edleman rolled up on his ankle and Hernandez left the game. He was later spotted on the sidelines on crutches. Initial reports suggest that he did not suffer a broken bone but speculation suggests a high ankle sprain and he could miss as many as six weeks.

New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw received a neck injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second quarter. The injury is being reported as a stinger. He was replaced by Andre Brown who rushed for 90 yards and a score.Bradshaw is scheduled for a MRI on Monday.

St. Louis Rams RB Seven Jackson sustained a groin injury. It was first believed that head coach Jeff Fisher had benched Jackson after committing an personal foul, but was later explained that Jackson did sustain a groin injury.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin re-aggravated a nagging hip injury. Maclin was carted off the field in the third quarter and did not return for the remainder of the game.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert is scheduled for a MRI exam on Monday. He played the majority of his game against the Houston Texans with a toe and hamstring injury. He was eventually replaced by veteran QB Chad Henne. This injury should have little impact in fantasy football circles as neither one of these quarterbacks should be considered for starts.

The Washington Redskins suffered the loss of a pair of defenders. LB Brian Orakpo suffered a pectoral muscle tear. DE Adam Carriker went down with a serious knee injury on the second play of their game against the St. Louis Rams. He is expected to undergo a MRI and surgery is expected.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles rushed for only six yards on three carries and reports suggest he was seen walking with a slight limp. No official word yet on Charles and any potential injury but he was removed from the Chief’s game and was riding a stationary bike on the sidelines. TE Kevin Boss left the game after suffering a blow to the head.
