The New England Patriots and New York Giants have more in common than just playing each other in exciting Super Bowls. They also have a knack at getting bit by the injury bug and having key players wind up on the weekly NFL Injury Report. For Week 6 of the 2012 NFL season, things are no different, as Aaron Hernandez, Wes Welker and Hakeem Nicks are all game time decisions, but are also three players who the Patriots and Giants fully expect to play.

Nicks has appeared closer and closer to making his return all week, and indications have been all along that New York expects to have him back for the first time in a few weeks when the Giants take on the San Francisco 49ers later this afternoon. It is a late game, so make sure to check back for the updated inactives list throughout the day.

Unfortunately, that is the same case for the Patriots, who take on the Seattle Seahawks in another late afternoon start. Hernandez is expected back for the first time since the first week of the season, as he has practiced throughout the week. He may be a bit limited early on, but if he can play, expect him to get quite a few targets.

Welker has a mild ankle sprain, and he has played through various nagging injuries in the past. The Patriots fully expect him to play and receive the normal amount of snaps, but adding complications is the expected return of Hernandez. That could alter his targets.
