When B.J. Raji went down with an ankle injury during the Green Bay Packers’ shocking loss to the Indianapolis Colts, many people feared the worst. The injury looked bad when he was blocked, and many feared it could end his season. Yet as of now, Green Bay does not feel as if Raji suffered any structural damage to his ankle.
Raji suffered the injury during the second quarter of the loss and did not return. The Packers had a comfortable lead when Raji was on the field, only to watch it slip away in the second half without thei best player on the defensive line.
But although Green Bay is hoping for the best, they have to plan for the worst. Raji was seen with a noticeable limp and was not too upbeat in the locker room. he will undergo an MRI today to further find out the extent of the injury.
If Raji is forced to miss any time, Ryan Pickett would move over to nose tackle. The Packers face the Houston Texans next Sunday night, and do not have their bye week until week 10 of the 2012 NFL season, meaning there will not be a time for Raji to rest without missing a game any time soon.
