As great of a defense as the Houston Texans have, they can’t afford to lose someone like MLB Brian Cushing to a knee injury.
Brian Cushing had 5 a team high 5 tackles when he went down with just under 11 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter against the New York Jets while attempting to tackle RB Bilal Powell. Cushing was cut blocked by Jets G Matt Slauson and immediately went down reaching for his left knee. Cushing was able to walk off the field where his knee was looked over by team doctors, then proceeded to walk into the locker room for further diagnosis. His status to return is listed as “questionable” I will keep this updated as more news comes across.
UPDATE 10:30 PM: ESPN has now reported Brian Cushing is done for the rest of the night. While this was expected, it just confirms this could be a very serious injury. Texans will have Cushing undergo an MRI tomorrow to find out the exact diagnosis
UPDATE 4:48 PM: The Texans now fear Cushing may have torn his ACL, which would end his season. Although they will await for results from the MRI today
