The NFL Week 5 Injury Report was released on Friday, but the active and inactive list is being updates as we speak. We now know that Julio Jones, Pierre Garcon and Reggie Bush are all active and expected to start in Week 5 of the 2012 NFL season. All were expected to play, but ti is now official.
Jones has been limited in his play in terms of production with a hand injury for the Atlanta Falcons, but he has not missed any time. he will start once again this week when the Falcons battle the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins will also have one of their top weapons on the field when Garcon gets his second straight start with a foot injury. he may see less snaps or targets than normal, but he will be active and on the field.
Reggie Bush is healthy and will receive his normal amount of carries and receptions when the Miami Dolphins take on the Cincinnati Bengals. Bush suffered the knee injury a couple of weeks ago but has not missed any game action. That will hold true once again today.
Rashard Mendenhall will get his first start of the 2012 NFL season when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Philadelphia Eagles, although he will likely be on a snap count. Expect around 12-15 carries. Troy Polamalu and James Harrison are also both active.
Trent Richardson is on the active report for the Cleveland Browns, although his status was never in question due to an injury. He missed practice on Friday while his girlfriend gave birth to his third child. He will start against the New York Giants.
As reported earlier on The Pigskin Report, the Browns will be without Mohammed Massaqoui and Travis Benjamin on offense when they face the Giants. Both are inactive.
Jeremy Maclin is active for the Philadelphia Eagles and is expected to start against the Steelers.
The New England Patriots expect to have Rob Gronkowski, although Aaron Hernandez is not expected to play. The active list for those two will not be released until later, as their game against the Denver Broncos is a late afternoon game.
Coby Fleener will start at tight end for the Indianapolis Colts when they face the Green Bay Packers. Dwight Freeney is also active for the Colts in this game.
