The New York Giants backfield suffered a major blow on Sunday night after losing RB Andre Brown with a broken left fibula. Brown has played a key role for the Giants this season and his return to the field this season is in serious doubt. The loss of Brown could be very significant for the Giants with Ahmad Bradshaw now forced to play a larger role in the rushing attack and the speedy but turnover prone rookie David Wilson now becoming more involved.

Bradshaw has battled foot issues for the majority of this season and usually does not practice with the team during the week in order to play on Sundays.

Brown was one of the league’s top feel good stories this season. After being signed and released from various teams, he found a way to land on the Giants roster while rushing for nearly 400 yards and scoring 8 touchdowns.

Brown was not the only injury the Giants suffered in their rout of the Green Bay Packers. S Kenny Phillips injured his right knee in the second half. Phillips has missed the team’s last six games with an injury to the same knee.
