The Seattle Seahawks dropped another road game on Sunday, losing to the Miami Dolphins 24-21. With five games to go, the Seahawks find themselves at 6-5. The good news for Seattle is that three of those five games are at home, where the Seahawks have yet to lose this season. The bad news is that the team reportedly is going to lose it’s two starting cornerbacks to a four-game league imposed suspension.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting this morning that Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Schefter reports that both players are planning an appeal.
Sherman and Browner are the cornerstones of the league’s third ranked pass defense, limiting opposing teams to just 200 yards per game through the air. Seattle will face Jay Cutler and likely Colin Kaepernick in coming weeks.Browner, a Pro Bowler in 2011 has three interceptions this season while Sherman has four on the year.
The Seahwaks told reporters that the team is “aware” of the situation but had no further comment. Sherman took to Twitter to say that the issue should be resolved soon. He tweeted, “This issue will be resolved soon and the truth will come out. Not worried.”
