The Pittsburgh Steelers will be hosting their divisional opponent, the Baltimore Ravens this evening. The Steelers are going to be without starting QB Ben Roethlisberger but they will see one of their offensive playmakers return this week, RB Rashard Mendenhall. Roethlisberger suffered a serious shoulder/rib injury last Monday night in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The running back position for the Steelers this season has resembled an emergency room. Mendenhall has missed games this season with an Achilles injury but will return to the lineup this evening.

Pittsbugh has plugged Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer in at the running back position this season with mixed results. Dwyer leads the Steelers with 355 yards rushing but he has failed to reach the endzone with Redman recording 295 yards and two scores. Pittsburgh has the current 20th ranked rushing offense in the league so far this season.

The Steelers will be starting QB Byron Leftwich in Roethlisberger’s absence tonight. It will be Leftwich’s first career start for Pittsburgh and his first start in over two seasons. He will be facing a Ravens defense which has suffered some key injuries and finds itself statistically ranked twoards the bottom of the league.

Baltimore is ranked 26th against the run, allowing 132 yards per game so expect the Steelers offense tonight to feature a run heavy game plan with Redman, Dwyer and Mendenhall all seeing action. Fantasy owners will have to roll the dice with these three backs and risk which one might find the endzone this evening.
