Speaking to the media this morning, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan told reporters that Mark Sanchez will start the Jets season finale against the Buffalo Bills. Sanchez was benched by the Jets two weeks ago and named Greg McElroy as the starter last week against the San Diego Chargers. McElroy’s start did not go well however, after being sacked 11 times. Ryan told reporters this morning that McElroy has a concussion and will not start this week. Tim Tebow will not get a chance to earn a start this week.

This decision now adds more fuel to the fire regarding Tim Tebow. There was more drama surrounding Tebow and the Jets this week after it was reported that the southpaw quarterback reportedly opted out of the Wildcat package against the Chargers. There have been numerous conflicting reports this week along the lines of, he said, he said, in regards to what the real story was in regards to Tebow.

This is a fitting end to what has been an absolute circus surrounding the New York Jets and their quarterback situation this season. This is nearly a guarantee that Tebow will suit up for the last time as a member of the Jets this Sunday. In all reality, it could be the last time Sanchez wears the Jets uniform as well.
