Despite being listed as questionable on the San Francisco 49ers injury report, it is becoming more apparent that TE Vernon Davis will not be playing in the Niners season finale against the Arizona Cardinals. Davis suffered a concussion last week in the San Francisco game against the Seattle Seahawks and likely will not suit up against the Cardinals.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Davis did not sound upbeat about the possibility of returning this week. Davis has still not been medically cleared to return to action on Sunday.

The Niners likely will not need Davis in the lineup in order to dispatch with the Arizona Cardinals, but the club will need him back in the lineup as the playoffs start next week. The 49ers have lost WR Mario Manningham for the year with a knee injury and have moved Randy Moss into the number two receiver slot in their offense. Moss has not been a major factor in the 49ers passing attack this season.

Davis too, has struggled to make an impact on the field this season. He has just five receptions in the last five games for the 49ers.

If Davis is unable to go for San Francisco, Delanie Walker will get the starting nod for the 49ers.
