The Green Bay Packers had to turn to a player from their past last week to handle the running back duties, Ryan Grant. Once again this season, injuries have take their toll on the Packers running backs, with different backs starting seemingly each week. Last week, Grant received the start due to the fact that Alex Green had not been medically cleared to play. Grant should be ready to go this week.

Grant was dealing with lingering effects form a concussion he received and did not pass his final test in order to be cleared. The veteran Grant responded well however with an 80-yard, two-touchdown effort in the Packers 55–7 rout of the Tennessee Titans.

Head coach Mike McCarthy has told reporters that Green will “definitely” will return this Sunday as the Packers travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings while trying to wrap up a second seed in the NFC and a first-round playoff bye.

In addition to Green, McCarthy said that the Packers hope to get a few other key players back this week. S Charles Woodson, WR Jordy Nelson, TE Tom Crabtree and Jerel Worthy are all expected to be back on the field this coming Sunday according to McCarthy. There is currently no word as to whether or not WR Randall Cobb will play Sunday.

Cobb suffered an ankle injury last week.
