Fox News is reporting that several members of the Seattle Seahawks were at a suburban Seattle bar on Christmas Eve where a shooting took place. One person is dead and another man was wounded in the incident. The shooting took place at a popular location known as Munchbar at approximately 1a.m. Monday morning. Accounts suggest that approximately 600 patrons were celebrating the Seahawks victory over the San Francisco 49ers when the shooting occurred.
Seattle police have reportedly issued an arrest warrant for 19-year old Ja’mari Alexander-Alan Jones who is believed to be the shooter. The shooter has a criminal history in the area, being involved in a beating death with two other teens in 2008. The three teens brutally beat a local character known as “Tuba Man”. Ed “Tuba Man” McMichael was known in the Seattle area for playing street music and at Seattle sporting events.
Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that while several members of the team where at the location, none were involved or injured in the event. “From what we know our guys were in a separate area and nobody was involved at all. It was an awful thing that happened,” said Carroll. Seahawks defensive end Greg Scruggs tweeted shortly after the event, “I’m good! Everybody else is good too! Ignorance at it’s best right there….smh.”
