Reggie Bush started the 2012 season making the statement that he wanted to lead the NFL in rushing for the regular season. He finished the year falling short of the 1,000-yard mark and now with impending free agency, he’s likely going to be with a team other than the Miami Dolphins next season. CBSSports Jason LaCanfora reports that according to his sources, the Dolphins are going to move on from Bush. Fantasy football owners should keep an eye on Lamar Miller next season if Bush does not return.
The free agent market for running backs has been soft in recent years so Bush will likely not see the type of contract he might be desiring in free agency next season.
Bush is a versatile back with shifty speed and great hands out of the backfield. As a rookie with the New Orleans Saints, Bush put up 88 receptions.
A possible suitor for Bush should be the Detroit Lions. The Lions must find a way to get their running game going. The lack of a practical run game has plagued the Lions for the last two seasons. It’s highly likely that Jahvid Best will never return to the field again. Mikel Leshoure doesn’t possess break away speed. Joique Bell needs to get more touches as well.
Another possible fit for Bush would be the Green Bay Packers staying within the NFC North division. The Packers running back situation was bleak this season as they resorted to signing Ryan Grant at the end of the regular season. With the Packers likely to undergo some changes at the wide receiver position this offseason, adding a back like Bush would be beneficial to the Packers offense.
