Despite interviewing for another head coaching position, former Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt is now heading to the San Diego Chargers as the team’s offensive coordinator. Whisenhunt was in the mix of rumors surrounding head coaching positions for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles went with Oregon’s Chip Kelly and only one coaching position remains, Arizona.

Whisenhunt now embarks on his second stint as an offensive coordinator in the NFL. He served the same role between 2004-2006 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chargers have hired Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy as the head coach to replace head coach Norv Turner.
