According to a Miami Dolphins beat writer, there have been no talks between WR Brian Hartline and the team as of yet. Hartline posted a career year for the Dolphins in 2012 going over the 1,000-yard mark for the first time. He had a monster day in Week Four against the Arizona Cardinals recording 12 receptions in 18 targets for 253 yards and scoring his only touchdown of the season.
Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports on Twitter, “Reported last week no significant progress. @DoctorYarid: Any info on re-signing Hartline?”
Hartline became the go-to receiver on a team with serious needs at that position. He did fade down the stretch however, recording just two receptions in three of his last six games.
It is believed that Hartline is looking for a deal in the neighborhood of five-years, $33 million. There are expected to be several receivers on the market this free agency period and it’s very possible that the Dolphins really have their hopes set on acquiring Green Bay Packers WR Greg Jennings in order to reunite him with head coach Joe Philbin who was a former member of the Packers coaching staff.
