Prior to the release of head coach Chan Gailey, it was speculated that the Buffalo Bills wanted to upgrade the quarterback position, replacing current quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. According to a pranked phone call which was revealed by this morning, the Bills general manager Buddy Nix is not a fan of Ryan Fitzpatrick either.

Deadspin was able to acquire a pranked phone call that was staged between two 20-year olds that were able to set up a phone call between Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik. Their actions will likely result in criminal charges or legal actions against the duo, but their audio that runs for 6 minutes sheds some light on the secretive inner workings of the NFL front offices.

During the conversation, Buddy Nix tells Dominik that the Bills are not wanting to move anyone at the start of free agency and he wishes the Bills had more than six draft selections this season. Nix continues to say that the Bills are struggling at the quarterback position and that Fitzpatrick needs to do something or else the Bills will. Nix opines that Fitzpatrick is making way more money than he should be, stating that he’s basically a quarterback that should be fighting for a backup position in the league.

Nix sums up the Buffalo quandary by stating that the Bills need a quarterback, “gotta get one somehow, bad time to need it.”

Kudos to Deadspin for acquiring this audio, but this pair of 20-year olds will now likely face a slew of legal issues. Listen to the audio here at Deadspin.
