At this time of the year, rumors surrounding NFL teams run rampant between the start of free agency and the NFL Draft. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been rumored to be interested in trading running back LeGarrette Blount as well as wide receiver Arrelious Benn. Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik was a victim of a serious telephone prank on Friday, as documented by Deadspin.com, but in the recorded phone call between him and Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix, he confirms the team is looking to move Blount, Benn and CB E.J. Biggers.

Deadspin rolled out an article, complete with the audio of a six minute audio segment of a staged phone call between the two GM’s that allegedly took place on Friday. While the audio gives an interesting look inside the world of the NFL, the two 20-year old perps of this prank will likely be facing legal action because of their stunt. Telephone conversations cannot be recorded without consent from the parties involved and these two orchestrated the phone call, as outlined by Deadspin.

Dominik claims that the team has one possible suitor for one of the players the Buccaneers are wanting to move but does not name the player. Nix complains about the new rules regarding the new legal tampering period prior to the start of free agency. Both GM’s complain that the leagues memo over the weekend regarding the period leading up to the start of free agency gives agents and players too much leverage.

One interesting note, Nix complains about Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and bemoans the fact that the Bills need a new quarterback but it’s a terrible time to find one.
