While continuing to work free agency, the Cleveland Browns have some interest in former New York Giants WR Domenik Hixon. The receiver missed most of 2011 with a torn ACL and has generated little interest in this year’s free agency market. Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter Mary Kay Cabot beat writer reports that the interest in Hixon is ” very mild’.

Cabot reports the Hixon would provide the Browns receiving corps with some veteran leadership as the club looks to develop young receivers such as Greg Little and Josh Gordon. Hixon has reportedly also met with the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.

His best season came in 2008, the only year he appeared in all 16 games for the Giants. Hixon, 28, recorded 43 receptions for 596 yards and two scores. He has 102 receptions for 1,405 yards and six scores in six seasons with the Giants.
