The Pittsburgh Steelers met with former New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw this afternoon and according to reports he is currently undergoing a physical. If he passes the physical, which is not a given, the team is expected to make an offer to Bradshaw. The Steelers are in need of a lead back after the loss of Rashard Mendenhall in free agency.

NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala tweeted, ” Told Ahmad Bradshaw getting physical from Steelers docs today. All checks out, they will try to sign him. Hearing not huge market for the RB.”

The Steelers are needing to fill multiple holes on their roster this offseason but a potential signing of Bradshaw does come with some risks. He has undergone three foot surgeries and has issues with his ankles as well. Pittsburgh will likely not overpay for Bradshaw and might offer him an incentive laden contract.

The visit to the Steelers is the first for Bradshaw this offseason free agency period.
