NBC’s Sunday Night Football in America will have a new introduction pitch person in 2013 as Faith Hill will not be brought back. It was announced this morning that Faith Hill will no longer be associated with NBC and the network will reach out to another singer to do the introduction for the 2013 season and beyond.
Hill hit up Twitter, announcing the move this morning. “Amazing 2 have been part of SNF- an honor. I just let everyone there know it’s time to let someone else rock the open.”
This comes as very disappointing news to the corporate headquarters of Thepigskinreport.com. For six years, we have watched Hill do the open of the broadcast. No official word as to whether this was a NBC decision or she just opted out, but here at TPR, we will be sad to see her go.
In understand major networks are always rocking demographics and Hill is now 45, but she still has a monster voice and can rock those leather pants and/or those thigh high boots as well as she did two decades ago. I know that my mother, 69, who has become a huge football fan in the last 10 years, loved Faith Hill doing the intro.
As a tribute, here are a few openings by Faith from last season. Good bye, good luck, and millions of football fans will miss you Faith.
