After receiving little interest on the free agent stage, veteran cornerback DeAngelo Hall returned to a familiar place, the Washington Redskins. Last month, Hall was released as a salary cap casualty. Reports suggest that Hall will play for $2 million in 2013 on a one-year deal. Originally, Hall was scheduled to make nearly $8 million under his former contract.
Hall generated no interest as a free agent in a market bloated with veteran corners this year.
Washington has been scrambling during free agency while trying to work around an $18 million dollar sanction handed down by the NFL after the league found the Redskins had illegally structured contracts during the uncapped season of 2010.
Hall returns to a defense which ranked 30th last year against the pass. He logged four interceptions for the Redskins last year.
