On Monday, Forbes magazine revealed the world’s most valuable sports franchises. Once again, the magazine has reported that the Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise and the fifth most valuable sports franchise overall.  Forbes estimates the value of the Cowboys at 2.1 billion dollars.

The top three sports franchises worldwide according to Forbes are not surprisingly soccer clubs. Real Madrid is reportedly worth $3.3 billion comes in at the top spot. Manchester United, owned by the Glazer family who also owns the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers came in second with a $3.1 billion dollar valuation. Barcelona comes in at the third spot on the list at $2.6 billion. The New York Yankees come in at four with a $2.3 billion dollar valuation.

The top five NFL franchise valuations include the New England Patriots coming in second ($1.63 billion. The Washington Redskins ($1.6 billion) and New York Giants ($1.468 billion) all made the overall top 10 list by Forbes. Three of the four teams in the NFC East have made the top ten overall list. The Houston Texans were the last of the top five valued franchises with an estimated worth of $1.3 billion and were listed 13th overall.
