The Detroit Lions were forced to make an adjustment with the receiving corps this morning after WR Nate Burleson was injured in a car accident late last night. Burelson was involved in a one car accident and broke his arm in two places. Reports suggest that he is undergoing surgery this morning. The loss of Burelson creates a vacancy at slot receiver.

Ryan Broyles will assume Burelson role in the Lions offense while he recovers from injury. Burelson was leading the Lions in receptions this season and was coming off a nice performance against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, logging six receptions for 116 yards.

Broyles comes with his own injury issues. He is coming back from his second ACL injury and was limited in Lions’ camp. He finally appeared in Detroit’s lineup on Sunday, but was limited in participation.

Fantasy impact- If Broyles can remain healthy, he would be a nice addition as a WR3 or flex player especially in PPR leagues. The Lions throw the ball a lot and he should get a lot of targets.
