The Pittsburgh Steelers turned to the 2013 NFL Draft in order to finally find some stability at the running back position this season with the selection of RB Le’Veon Bell. Bell suffered a foot sprain in the preseason and has yet to return to even the practice field for the Steelers. Pittsburgh needs some help desperately at the running back position but don’t expect Bell anytime soon.
Bob Labriola reports on Twitter this afternoon, the Stelers might not introduce Bell to the offense until after their bye week. That would mean Bell would see action in week six. “Since he hasn’t even begun to practice yet, even individual drills, I assume he’s out. My guess is he’s back after the bye.”
In the meantime, the Steelers are forced to revisit the duo that provided lackluster numbers last year, Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer. Dwyer was brought back after week one’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Given the state of the Steelers offensive line, Bell should sit on the sidelines and fantasy owners should avoid anyone carrying the ball for the Steelers in the meantime.
