It seems as if it was eons ago when the Baltimore Ravens hoisted the Lombardi Trophy last February. Hardcore football fans began the countdown the next morning as to when the greatest game would return to the gridiron. It was 213 days until today, September 5th, the start of the NFL regular season.

For myself, I have to say that it was the quickest offseason I’ve ever experienced. Maybe it’s because I had other things going on this offseason or perhaps I’m just growing older and heeding my grandmother’s advice. Either way, it doesn’t matter how we arrived here, we have arrived and the NFL season is about to kickoff in mere hours.

All the offseason hand wringing and arrest reports are behind us. Most all fantasy owners have drafted their teams. Wagers have been laid on prospects this season. Let’s put toe to leather and get this thing kicked off.
