The Detroit Lions have announced that WR Calvin Johnson and RB Joique Bell are officially active this afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson was limited last week to less than 40 offensive snaps while dealing with a knee injury. RB Joique Bell is hampered with a rib injury and was limited in practice this week.

Bell will be Reggie Bush’s backup this afternoon while Theo Riddick  (concussion) has been named inactive. Bell’s effectiveness has to be questioned and it’s possible that Mikel Leshoure might see some actual action on the field for the first time this season.

For fantasy owners of these players, you must start Calvin Johnson. Even while battling his knee injury, he will get some redzone looks and the Lions are averaging 37 points per game at home. Joique Bell should be benched, not even getting a nod in flex positions. Look elsewhere for help.
