The Jacksonville Jaguars are still looking for their first win of the 2013 regular season. Chad Henne got the starting nod last week and was effective in moving the otherwise stagnant Jaguars offense under Blaine Gabbert. Henne threw for over 300 yards but added two interceptions last week against the Denver Broncos. Jacksonville will have both of their wide receivers heading into this afternoon’s contest against the San Diego Chargers.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, both Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts will both start this afternoon. Both players are nursing injuries. Shorts, a surprising find for the Jaguars offense last season, is dealing with a clavicle injury and was limited this week. How long he can go in today’s game remains to be seen as he was having trouble lifting his arms over his head this week.
Blackmon, who has been sensational since returning to the team after serving his league imposed suspension, is dealing with a hamstring injury. In two games since his return, Blackmon has 326 yards on 19 receptions and is clearly the most often targeted on the field when the Jaguars have the ball.
Fantasy owners should start Blackmon and only start Shorts if they have no other viable option.
