The New England Patriots and QB Tom Brady finally gets one of their best offensive weapons back on the field this afternoon. Adam Schefter and multiple sources are reporting this morning that Rob Gronkowski is officially active for the first time this afternoon as New England faces the New York Jets.

There has been a lot of speculation in recent weeks when Gronkowski might actually finally return to the field. It was believed that he might have been ready to play last week against the New Orleans Saints but was not medically cleared prior to kickoff by Dr. James Andrews. Gronkowski was cleared last Friday but there was still some trepidation as to whether or not he would actually see action this afternoon.

Fantasy owners that have had Gronkowski sitting on the bench for the first six weeks of the year should go ahead and start Gronkowski this afternoon. Reports suggest that he has looked sharp in practice this week and he’ll get his usual looks in the red zone this afternoon.
