It’s not been a great couple weeks for former players and coaches to return to their old place of employment. Broncos QB Peyton Manning and his team suffered their first loss of the year after making his first return to Indianapolis last Sunday night. This Sunday, former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan returned to the city where he spent 21 years of his coaching timeline and came away with a convincing loss against his former team this afternoon. But did he come away with more than just a game loss? Is Robert Griffin III suffering from another knee injury?

RG III was beaten like a ragdoll against the Denver Broncos defense. He was sacked three times but the Broncos hit him 13 times. Griffin finished the day with just 15 completions after 30 attempts for a mere 132 yards and two interceptions along with a score. The scare for the Redskins had to come with just under five minutes to go in the game.

Griffin was blasted on a sack late in the game and was helped to the sidelines. He was immediately examined by sideline doctors for a possible injury to his left knee. He is recovering from surgery on his right knee from last season. FOX Sports reported that he was officially questionable to return, but at that point in the game, there was no reason for him to return.

Washington needs to do something about their offensive line situation and play calling should really be questioned. If RG III continues to take these beatings, he isn’t going to be the quarterback of the future.
