After working out free agent QB Pat White, the Buffalo Bills decided to promote Thad Lewis from their practice squad and give him the starting nod this week. After making that move yesterday, it is bring reported this morning that the Bills have signed another quarterback, Dennis Dixon. Buffalo will be adding him to their practice squad.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport reports on Twitter, “The Bills do plan on adding a QB…to their practice squad. It is expected to be Dennis Dixon, per source.”
Dixon is eligible for the practice squad because he has not made more than six career starts no was he active for most all of the game he played with the Steelers. Dixon was on the offseason roster of the Philadelphia Eagles this season. Dixon will be listed as the third quarterback for Sunday’s game meaning that he can only play if Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel exit the game and do not return.
