The NFL week got underway on Thursday night with the Chicago Bears handing the New York Giants their sixth straight defeat of the regular season. Turnover continue to plague QB Eli Manning. The teams continue their path towards and undefeated season. Kansas City hosts the Oakland Raiders. The New Orleans Saints travel to take on the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos host the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars. The Broncos set a Vegas record this week by opening as the biggest favorite in an NFL game, giving the Jaguars 28 points while shattering NFL scoring records after five games. Lets look at this weeks picks and predictions against the spread.

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs (-8) 41

The Chiefs defense leads the NFL in takeaways and is playing a smothering opportunistic style this season. This is one of the storied rivalries in the NFL. While Terrelle Pryor has shown improvement this season, I don’t believe he’s ready to play in Arrowhead. Chiefs 26-13

Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2.5)

The Buccaneers have yet to get in the win column this season and are coming off a bye week. Mike Glennon gets his second career start while Nick Foles gets the starting nod for the Eagles. My upset pick of the week, Buccaneers 26-23

Green Bay Packers @ Baltimore Ravens (+3) 49

The Ravens have been an up and down team this season. I’m sure Aaron Rodgers watched plenty of tape on the Ravens opening loss to the Denver Broncos. Packers 34-23

Detroit Lions @ Cleveland Browns (+2.5) 44

I am leaning towards Cleveland in this contest. Even if Calvin Johnson plays, he will be banged up. Cleveland 26-23

Carolina Panthers @ Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) 44

This will be an emotional game for Adrian Peterson coming off the tragic death of his 2-year old son. Peterson will rush for over 200 yards today and three touchdowns. Vikings 31-20

St Louis Rams @ Houston Texans (-7.5) 42

The Texans need to find a way to get back in the win column and it should start today. The Rams have yet to record a rushing touchdown this season. Houston 30-16

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets (-1) 41

The winless Steelers are one of the more surprising stories this season. They have yet to record a takeaway this year, very uncharacteristic. The Jets are playing some solid defense. Jets 16-13

Cincinnati Bengals @ Buffalo Bills (+6.5) 41.5

The Bills are starting Thad Lewis at quarterback. He was signed off the practice squad this week. Bengals 27-10

Tennessee Titans @ Seattle Seahawks (-13.5) 40.5

While the Titans are playing improved defense this season, Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t prepared to play in Seattle. Seahawks 26-13

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos (-27) 53.5

I wouldn’t touch this line with a ten foot pole. How long will Peyton Manning play in this game? Broncos 38-6

Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers (-10.5) 41

The Niners defense will have it’s way with Carson Palmer this afternoon. 49ers 26-16

New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots (-2) 50.5

The Saints are playing their second consecutive road game and are one team not garnering much national attention despite being 5-0 this season. Saints 34-23

Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys (-5.5) 53

Tony Romo throws for over 500 yards and five scores last week and still loses. He should have another big week against the Redskins defense this week. Dallas 34-24
