Despite the belief that Percy Harvin might be activated for the Seattle Seahawks this week as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, head coach Pete Carroll stated yesterday that he will not be activated this week. Harvin has spent the last nine weeks on the Physically Unable to Perform list after undergoing surgery on his hip. He was practiced with the team in recent weeks and reportedly was looking sharp on the field.
However, Harvin aggravated his hip last week in what is being called a “flare up” on his injury. Carroll told reporters that the Seahawks are going to be cautious with Harvin moving forward and he would not be activated for Sunday’s game.
Seattle could really use Harvin back in the lineup after losing WR Sidney Rice for the season with an ACL injury. Time is against the Seahawks if they want Harvin to play this season as he must be activated off the PUP list prior to Week 11.
