The Seattle Seahawks secondary is allowing just 180 yards per game this season, but it will be suffering another loss. The Seahawks are already without CB Brandon Browner who is out 4-6 weeks with tissue damage and a groin pull. Now, According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Seattle will lose nickle corner, Walter Thurmond. Thurmond is facing a four game league imposed suspension after testing positive for a non-PED banned substance.

Rapoport suggests that Thurmond will drop his appeal early next week and will start his suspension.

The timing of these issues couldn’t come at a worse time for the Seahawks. Coming off their bye, Seattle will host the New Orleans Saints next Monday night in a game with huge significance in determining the possible number one seed for the playoffs in the NFC. Seattle then travels to San Francisco to take on the 49ers the next week.

Thurmond has one interception on the season with 31 tackles, one sack and six passes defensed. He has also scored one defensive touchdown.

UPDATE: KJR 950 Seattle is reporting that the suspension is because Thurmond tested positive for marijuana.
