The Miami Dolphins have announced this morning that veteran running back Knowshon Moreno was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list this morning. Moreno underwent offseason knee surgery. Although the club released no information regarding the veteran’s status for Friday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, it could be considered doubtful that he will see action.

Moreno was signed this offseason to a one-year, $3 million dollar contract after receiving little interest in the free agent market. While playing behind QB Peyton Manning in Denver last season, Moreno set career highs in rushing yards and touchdowns. 1,038 and 10 respectively.

Moreno was brought in to compete with Lamar Miller for the starting tailback position for the Dolphins. Miami’s run game has been lacking in recent years.
